HISTORY

The Norton Hotel, also known as the Overland Hotel was completed in 1875. As built, the two story structure contained ground floor storefronts with offices, saloons and a basket factory. The second floor provided first class lodging for the transient needs of those with dealings in the nearby waterfront district. In the 1970’s the building underwent extensive remodeling and today the ground floor has retail/restaurant space, while the upper story has been adapted for offices.
